Cancellation & Refund Policy
Please read this document carefully. It governs your use of the CricCheer platform.
Introduction
CricCheer is a discovery platform for cricket watch parties. CricCheer does not sell event tickets and does not process payments on behalf of attendees. RSVPs are free. Fans attend watch parties as guests of the host venue or fan club.
CricCheer does charge subscription fees to venue owners and fan club operators who use our platform tools. This policy covers:
- Cancellation of paid subscriptions (venue and fan club plans)
- Refunds for Tournament Passes
- Attendee RSVP cancellations (free, etiquette-based)
- Host-initiated party cancellations
- Impact of match cancellations and postponements
- CricCheer's rights to suspend or terminate accounts
Subscription Cancellations
CricCheer offers paid plans for venue owners and fan club operators. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly, quarterly, or annual cycle depending on the plan selected at signup.
2.1 Current Plans
Venue plans: Starter (free) · Pro (₹1,499/mo) · Elite (₹3,999/mo)
Fan club plans: Community (free) · Club Pro (₹799/mo) · Club Elite (₹2,499/mo)
2.2 How to Cancel
To cancel a paid subscription, email support@criccheer.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your venue or fan club name and the plan you wish to cancel. We will confirm cancellation within 2 business days.
2.3 What Happens After Cancellation
- Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged for the next cycle.
- After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the free Starter (venues) or Community (fan clubs) tier. Paid features — including the Host Console, advanced analytics, and increased party allowances — will be disabled.
- Your listings, party history, and member data are retained. Nothing is deleted on downgrade.
- If you exceed free-tier limits after downgrade (e.g., more than 2 active parties per month), existing listings remain visible but you will not be able to create new ones until you are within limits or re-subscribe.
2.4 Refunds on Subscription Fees
- Monthly plans: No refund for the current billing month. Cancellation prevents renewal for the next month.
- Quarterly and annual plans: A pro-rated refund for unused complete months may be issued at CricCheer's discretion. Contact support@criccheer.com to request a refund review.
- Exceptional circumstances: If a technical error on CricCheer's part prevented you from accessing paid features, we will issue a full refund for the affected period. Contact support with details.
Tournament Pass Refunds
Tournament Passes are time-bound add-ons that unlock enhanced features for the duration of a specific cricket tournament (e.g., a major T20 league, World Cup). They are available to venue owners and fan club operators.
3.1 Pricing
Tournament Passes are priced between ₹999 and ₹4,999 depending on the tournament and tier.
3.2 Refund Eligibility
- Before tournament start: A full refund is available if requested at least 7 days before the tournament's first match. Email support@criccheer.com with your order details.
- After tournament starts: No refund once the tournament is underway, regardless of how many matches remain. Features remain accessible until the tournament concludes.
- Tournament cancelled by the governing body: If an entire tournament is officially cancelled before any match is played, CricCheer will issue a full refund automatically within 10 business days. If a tournament is shortened mid-way, no refund is issued.
- Technical failure by CricCheer: If Pass features were inaccessible for more than 3 consecutive days due to a platform error, a pro-rated refund will be issued for the affected period.
RSVP Cancellations
Attending a watch party on CricCheer is always free. RSVPs do not involve any payment to CricCheer. Any cover charges, entry fees, or food and beverage minimums are set independently by the venue and are outside CricCheer's purview.
4.1 Cancelling Your RSVP
- You can cancel an RSVP at any time through the party detail page.
- As a courtesy to hosts who plan based on attendance numbers, we ask that you cancel at least 4 hours before the match starts if you know you cannot attend.
- Cancelling frees your spot so another fan on the waiting list (if any) can attend.
4.2 Repeated No-Shows
- CricCheer tracks no-show patterns. Repeated failure to cancel or attend without notice may result in a temporary restriction on your ability to RSVP to new parties.
- You will be notified before any restriction is applied. Restrictions are lifted after a cooling-off period.
Host-Cancelled Parties
Hosts — venue owners and fan club organisers — may need to cancel a listed watch party. CricCheer does not manage any financial transaction between hosts and attendees, so there is no refund flow through our platform for independently collected fees.
5.1 Host Obligations on Cancellation
- Hosts must cancel a party through the CricCheer dashboard as soon as the decision is made. Do not leave the listing active if the event will not happen.
- CricCheer will automatically notify all RSVPed attendees via email and in-app notification when a party is cancelled.
- If your venue collected advance payments directly from attendees (e.g., deposits for reserved seating), you are solely responsible for refunding those amounts in accordance with your own stated policy.
5.2 Impact on Host Standing
- A single last-minute cancellation will not negatively affect your account.
- Frequent cancellations — particularly those with less than 24 hours notice and no stated reason — may result in reduced listing visibility, removal of a verified badge, or account suspension at CricCheer's discretion.
- Hosts with a pattern of cancellations will be contacted by the CricCheer team before any action is taken.
Match Cancellations & Postponements
Cricket matches can be cancelled, abandoned, or rescheduled due to weather, pitch conditions, or decisions by the governing body. CricCheer has no control over match scheduling.
6.1 How CricCheer Handles Affected Parties
- When an official match cancellation or postponement is announced, CricCheer will mark affected parties as cancelled or postponed on the platform and notify RSVPed attendees.
- Where a match is rescheduled to a confirmed date, CricCheer will update the party listing automatically where possible. Hosts may also update their listing manually.
- Attendees who cannot attend a rescheduled party may cancel their RSVP without any consequence.
6.2 Financial Arrangements with the Venue
If a host venue charged attendees directly for a watch party that was subsequently cancelled due to a match postponement, CricCheer is not a party to that arrangement. Attendees must resolve refund requests directly with the venue. CricCheer may facilitate communication between the two parties on request but cannot compel a venue to issue a refund.
Platform Termination Rights
CricCheer reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account — venue, fan club, or attendee — for the following reasons:
- Violation of CricCheer's Terms of Service
- Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation
- Repeated community guideline violations (harassment, spam, fake listings)
- Non-payment of a subscription after a grace period of 7 days
- Any activity that endangers the safety of attendees or the platform
7.1 Effect of Termination on Subscriptions
- If CricCheer terminates an account for cause, no refund is owed for the remaining subscription period or any unused portion of a Tournament Pass.
- If CricCheer terminates an account for reasons unrelated to the account holder's conduct (e.g., CricCheer discontinues service in a region), a pro-rated refund for the unused subscription period will be issued within 14 business days.
7.2 Appeals
If you believe your account was terminated in error, email support@criccheer.com within 30 days of termination. Include your account email and a brief description of the circumstances. CricCheer will review your appeal and respond within 5 business days.
Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from this policy are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
